In-Depth Look at Our Trades from April
Our first trade was a Short Strangle in Disney. We were in and out of this trade with no adjustments. It was a pretty quick trade for a profit of $186.
Our next trade was in EWZ, which was also a Short Strangle. Again, we were in and out pretty quickly for a profit of $144.
In /6B, which is the British Pound, we did have to make one adjustment, but by staying mechanical, we booked a nice profit of $543.75.
In WBA, we did an Iron Butterfly for a profit of $144.
Then, we went back to /6B, the British Pound, and we're only in this trade for two days. We booked a quick profit of $331.25.
In J.P. Morgan, we did a Pre-Earnings Long Call. We got to the point where we had to get out of the trade, because we didn't want to hold this through earnings. We were able to scratch out a little bit of a profit, making $20 on the trade.
In Johnson and Johnson, we did a Pre-Earnings Long Straddle and never got to the point of being able to get profits on this one. We ended up taking a loss of $207.
In Netflix, we did a Pre-Earnings Long Strangle. It was pretty much the same situation as JNJ. This one just never moved. Implied volatility actually declined going into earnings, which is not normal. So we ended up taking a loss of $767 on the trade.
And in /ZN, we did another Short Strangle. We had to do several adjustments, but by staying mechanical, we were able to book a nice profit of $484.38.
Lastly, in Wells Fargo, we did an Iron Condor and booked a profit of $268.
And that wraps up our closed trades for the month of April.
