NavigationTrading Monthly Performance

Hello NavigationTraders!

Welcome to our Monthly Performance Summary!

June 2018 was another great month of trading for our Pro Members. We had 9 closed trades, all of which were winners. Total profit was just over $2,400. We traded five different strategies in June. We did Short Strangles, Iron Condors, a Short Put Vertical, and a couple of Earnings related trades. These included a Pre-Earnings Long Straddle and a Post-Earnings Short Put Vertical.

Overall Performance

Really quickly I want to cover our overall performance so far this year, and then we’ll jump into a breakdown of our June trade performance. Let’s look at our performance page, You can navigate to this page by clicking on the “Performance” tab at the top of our site.

Overall Trade Results For 2018

So far in 2018 we've closed 74 trades, average profit is at $216, and our winning percentage is now over 89%. Those are awesome stats! If you scroll down the page, you can see the breakdown of each month… the different trades that we made during those months and the total profit for each one.

We started the year with a little under $70,000 in our account. So, we're using from $500 to a few thousand dollars of buying power per trade. This can be done in a relatively small account. We have some members that are trading 5-10 times the number of contracts that we trade. Obviously, you would just multiply the profits you see here by however many more contracts you’re trading. Keep in mind, if you're just starting out, you want to start as small as possible until you start understanding all the nuances that come along with the strategies that we teach.

On our Performance page, we’ve got every month’s trade results going back to the first of this year. 2017 performance results are listed as well. In 2017, we had a total of 75 closed trades, an average profit of $125, and an 88% winning percentage. We started posting our performance back in June of last year and we'll continue to do that. All the winners and losers, we show EVERY SINGLE TRADE.

Our first closing trade was Amazon on June 4th. This was a Post-Earnings Short Put Vertical trade. We took some good heat on this one. Meaning it went right against us as soon as we put it on. We had to do a couple of rolls but ended up booking a small winner. Anytime you can take a massive losing trade and turn it into a winner, that's a huge accomplishment.

When you learn how to make those necessary adjustments, that's when you'll really start to turn a corner as a consistent trader. So, we booked a small profit with Amazon, but the key takeaway, is that we turned a huge loser into a winner.

Our next trade was a Pre-Earnings Long Straddle that we did in Adobe, booking a nice little win within just two days. We entered that on 6/5, took it off two days later.

First Adobe Trade

We did a Short Put Vertical in McDonald's with a nice profit of $405 on that trade.

In EEM, the Emerging Markets ETF, we did a Short Strangle and booked a profit of $148.

Then, before Earnings were announced, we dipped back into Adobe for another Pre-Earnings Long Straddle. We didn't get as much profit as we had hoped on that one, but still profitable. We booked a profit of $41.

Second Adobe Trade

Then we did a Short Strangle in the notes. In /ZN, we booked a profit of almost $300.

In EWW, the Mexican ETF, we did a Short Strangle. We had to make a few adjustments, a couple of rolls, but ended up booking a nice profit of a little over $300 on that one.

Then in KR, which is Kroger the grocery store, we did a Post Earnings Short Put Vertical, just like we teach in our course. We booked a profit in less than 24 hours of $150. Nice!

The last trade of the month was in the Euro, /6E. We had to do a couple adjustments there, but ended up booking a nice profit of over $787.

Those were all the trades for the month of June. It was another great month of trading!
